Eligibility criteria:
All the MCI (Medical council of India) recognized government medical colleges select the candidates based on their merit at the various entrance examinations. The entry cut-offs for the government colleges are much higher than private universities offering PG medicine courses.
The candidate with an MBBS degree and MBBS enrolment document are eligible for applying for the PG courses. Also, the candidate should have an internship experience of one year.
Foreign Medical Graduate exam(FMGE) is a qualifying screening test, after which the foreign graduates can apply for the NEET exam. There are a total of 10,821 Master of Surgery (MS), 19,953 Doctor of Medicine (MD) and 1,979 PG Diploma seats in postgraduate medical courses in India.
