International Medical Updates

• The Delta variant of COVID-19 is now being reported in about 80 countries around the world. 
• China reports the first human case of H10N3 bird flu.

New Drugs

• Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories on Tuesday announced the launch of Icosapent Ethyl Capsules, used to reduce triglyceride (TG) levels in adult patients, in the US market.
• Drug firm Zydus Cadila has received tentative approval from the USFDA to market Fingolimod capsules, used in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, in the American market. In the strength of .25 mg, Fingolimod is an immunomodulating drug. It is a sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor modulator indicated for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS).
• The FDA has approved Sooanz, an improved formulation of loop diuretic torsemide, for the treatment associated with oedema associated with heart failure and renal disease in adults.
• Biogen and Eisai, Co., Ltd. today announced that the U.S. FDA has granted accelerated approval for Aduhelm™ (aducanumab-avwa) as the first and only Alzheimer’s disease treatment to address a defining pathology of the disease by reducing amyloid-beta plaques in the brain.

National Medical Updates

• India reports less than 1 lakh COVID cases; vaccination coverage exceeds 30 Crores.
• IIT-Hyderabad designs the world’s smallest microscope. Muscope is an on-chip microscope. It can image up to one milli micron diameter with off-the-shelf electronic components, without optimisation. It is the smallest microscope — extending a few millimetres — capable of high-resolution imaging.
• Hyderabad-based speciality biopharmaceutical manufacturer, Celon Laboratories, announced the launch of an alternative drug – Amphotericin B Emulsion, for the treatment of Mucormycosis.

Past Events

• Provided FREE LMRP Videos to FMGE June 2021 aspirants to help them ace their revision strategy before the exam.
• To boost the performance of students and to help them assess themselves for the exams, we conducted Batch Wise Cumulative Monthly Tests on DBMCI Live App, exclusively for our enrolled students. To energize the students, we offered cash prizes to the top 3 students as well (batch-wise).
• NMC put the notification out for NEXT and NEXT 2023 is confirmed. 2018 Batch will be the first to give it.  

On-Going Plans

• We are conducting FMGE June 2021 Recall Sessions of all the subjects, where the top-notch faculties of the country are broadly analysing the questions asked in the exam.100% of the questions were from eGurukul Notes 2.0.
• Offering 6 months Prof. Wise Packages for FMGE.
