Que: How do you feel about the two-digit rank?

I’m feeling really happy on top right now, and I was actually very surprised to see such a good rank. But I have worked hard in the last three to four years for this, and I’m happy to see that all of it has proved good in the end.

Que: Tell us about when you started your preparation and how you moved during that situation, and how DBMCI helped you in achieving your dream?

Actually, I’m a regular back student, so I attended all the classes, and the faculty teaches all the subjects in a very clinical manner and integrated based approach manner, especially the classes of Thameen Sir And Jai Arora sir, who make even the most difficult topic very easy and the clinical approach that they provide that is like just a gem for every student to have. So after attending these classes, radiology classes by Rajat Jain sir and Anesthesia classes all were very helpful in my preparation.

And the key point to remember is that you have to go through your notes again and again because, in the end, the questions are there from the notes only. And it is a matter of the number of revisions that you have made to your notes that will make the difference in the end. And apart from that, I have been reading all the standard textbooks like Robins for Pathology and Bailey for Surgery and a bit of Harrison, not too much because Thameem sirs note only are more than enough for covering the medicine subject. So I have been making all my class notes, and then I was also a student of the TND batch. So in that also all the faculty are very helpful, they explain it in a very clinical manner and make the topic very easy for us. Niha Mams Opthalmology TND I had attended, so that was very good, and the way she explains retina and all the difficult subjects is phenomenal.

Que: How is your question bank? How many questions should you attempt daily basis, or should what advice about the question bank do you want to give?

Actually, from the start of your internship only, you should start giving your grand test every 15 or 30 days, and you should start analyzing your weaker areas because we keep thinking that we will give tests because the syllabus is so huge that you can never consider it to be completely covered and then give a test. So my advice for my juniors would be to keep giving these tests on a regular basis and to analyze their mistakes and improve on them. And apart from that, your T and D notes also are very helpful in the last-minute revision in the last ten to 15 days. Okay. So the main thing is that revision of notes is definitely key to success and doing questions regularly, and attending tests. Regular tests or regular questions are essential.

In some of the grand tests that I gave, I did not score well. I was scoring 2000 to 3000 rank. So in them, I analyzed the weaker areas that I was missing in our biochemistry and pathology. So I worked on their notes more times, and when I improved them, my rank significantly got improved.

Yes. So one very good message do not get disappointed if you are not getting a good rank on the grand test or any test. Just try to focus on the weaker area. And these tests are meant to tell you what mistake you are going to make in your exam. Better to improve previous to those exams.

Que: Lastly who do you give credits for your achievement?

I give all the credits to each faculty member at DBMCI, especially Ashish sir who is in the local management for supporting me all the time and all my family and friends who pushed me to achieve my goal.
