Let’s analyze the exam and see what can we learn for future preparations.

INI-CET Nov 2022 Exam Analysis

Difficulty Level

INI-CET Nov 2022 was definitely not an easy one; however, it was not extremely difficult either. Yes, the options were tricky and relatively similar but that was due to the nature of this examination, i.e., only selected topics end up on the question paper.

In our survey, 37% of the students ranked INI-CET Nov 2022 as difficult, whereas 57% of the students claimed it was moderate, and 6% said the exam was easy.

Topics

A majority of the topics were from Surgery, specifically on the topic of Trauma, while a set of 10 questions was from subjects like Medicine, Pathology, Anatomy, and Medicine. Interestingly, few questions were observed on topics from the subjects of Anesthesia, Psychiatry,  Pediatrics, and Ophthalmology

Interestingly, there were plenty of questions regarding Covid-19 and recent advances. With that said, none of the questions in INI-CET Nov 2022 were surprising.

Exam Pattern

A majority of the exams, nearly half of it was conceptual and the other half was divided into testing clinical knowledge of the students and one-liners. This was a slightly new pattern for INI-CET; however, nothing extremely challenging.

Clinical Scenarios

As you already know, these are essential when it comes to testing how students will apply the knowledge to the real world. Therefore, these were also prominent in INI-CET Nov 2022.

The average percentage of clinical scenarios was around 60%, based on the survey conducted with students. Interestingly, some even stated that there were only 1% of clinical scenarios in the exam.

Image-based questions

When it comes to image-based questions, students gave us drastically varying answers. Some said that there were just 5 of these questions, whereas some claimed there were 100 image-based questions in INI-CET Nov 2022. However, there were on average 55 of these questions.

PYQs

The importance of PYQs cannot be underestimated. Yes, it has more to do with upcoming examinations now; however, understanding how a question will be asked and your confidence to answer it accurately makes you perform better in INI-CET. This is what we observed during the survey.

According to our survey, 88% of the students said the recall questions were from DBMCI Face-to-face classes, and the rest of the students said questions were from the eGurukul app

Time Limit

You already know that 3 hours are allotted to candidates for INI-CET. However, the good news is that more than three-quarters of medicos claimed that they had sufficient time to complete the exam.
