International Medical Updates

  • BDR Pharma launches the first generic RUCAPARIB to treat advanced ovarian and prostate cancers in India.
  • Padma Bhushan awardee and Chairman of AIG Hospitals, Dr. Reddy, has won the highest honor from The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE)- the Rudolf V. Schindler Award, making him the first-ever Indian medical practitioner to get this recognition from ASGE for his work in the field of endoscopy.

New advancement

  • RUCAPARIB is launched under the brand name BDPARIB in two strengths of 200mg & 300mg.
  • RUCAPARIB is an oral, small-molecule inhibitor of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP)1, 2, and 3 used as a monotherapy and in conjunction with other anti-cancer agents in several tumor forms, including ovarian and prostate cancers.

Vaccination achievement

  • 20cr doses given, 34% above 45 have got 1st jab in INDIA in just 130 days, a big achievement indeed.

National Medical Updates

  • Covaxin Phase 2-3 clinical trials for the age group of 2-18 will begin in June and the youngest participant is 2-year-old. The trial will take place in 525 subjects at various sites, including AIIMS Delhi, AIIMS Patna, and Meditrina Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur. In the trial, the vaccine will be given by intramuscular route in two doses on day 0 and day 28.
  • ICMR approves Mylab’s COVID-19 self-testing kit named as CoviSelf (PathoCatch). This indigenously developed test has been designed for home testing and is advisable only for symptomatic individuals and for people who come in contact with lab-tested COVID positive patients, as stated by the advisory issued by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), for COVID-19 home testing using the RAT kit.

  • Introduced eGurukul 2.0 Notes to cover the key points of the entire course. The high-yielding crisp notes aid you to get armed with clinical questions and conceptual learning.
  • DBMCI turned 25 and celebrated its SILVER JUBILEE on 26th May along with a gala celebration. All the legendary faculties recreated their first memory of DBMCI on this glorious occasion.

Ongoing Plans

  • Since you hadn’t visited clinics in 2020, DBMCI Gurus offer Virtual Clinical Experience to bridge the gap between you and the clinics.
  • To help you analyze and learn real-life technique-based procedures, Practical Videos in eGurukul 2.0 were added. It is specifically done to provide practical exposure, exclusively to 1st and 2nd Prof students.
  • The CSR Initiative has been undertaken by DBMCI in the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. 

Under the initiative, our CEO, Dr. Nachiket Bhatia started a campaign #weareyourfamilytoo and further promised that if any of the students lose any of their parents due to the pandemic this year, DBMCI will extend unconditional support to them.

  • We are conducting a FREE INI-CET Mock that simulates the real INI-CET exam. The students can attempt the GRAND TEST – 205 (INI-CET Mock) from 6th June 2021 (10 AM) to 9th June 2021 (10 AM) on the Testpress portal.
