MBBS Students to undergo mandatory AYUSH Training- Here’s what Dr Nachiket Bhatia says.

According to the recent draft passed by NMC, the MBBS Students will soon have to undergo AYUSH training. A week’s training will be included along with the rotational schedule of 17 other specialists.

In the week’s training each of the two super speciality disciplines, including cardiology, nephrology, pulmonary medicine, and medical oncology, has been included in the internship for MBBS Graduates. Over the 17 postings, 14 are mandatory and 3 are electives. The training in super speciality disciplines and the Indian System of Medicine is included in the electives. So, for AYUSH, the NMC stated that the interns can choose any elective from Yoga, Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, and Sidha Sowa Rigpa.
